Mr. Folk graduated with a Bachelor of Science, in Business Marketing & Finance – Cume Laude Honors from Sacred Heart University (Fairfield Connecticut, USA) via a Division 1 NCAA Hockey Scholarship.
After a brief stint playing professional hockey in Europe, he joined Canadian Western Bank’s Commercial Lending Group where he held a variety of roles, eventually becoming one of the youngest Branch Manager & Assistant Vice-President’s within the organization. As an AVP with the Equipment Finance Group, he specialized in heavy equipment finance and leasing, with a focus on specific industries such as the energy, forestry, transportation, and construction sectors. After approximately 10 years with CWB, he joined the CEF Team in April 2016.
Mr. Folk has spent his entire financing career in Western Canada, including locations such as Vancouver, Nanaimo, Kelowna, and Red Deer, and thus, understands both macro and micro economic factors, the ebbs and flows, and overall sentiment of the Western Canadian business environment and corresponding industries.
